Give Your Goals A Reboot

give goals rebootThe summer is my favourite time of year. July in particular is special for me — and not just because it’s my birthday month!

When we were kids, July was the first full month of the summer holidays and school wouldn’t be seen for what seemed like forever. In other words, July has always had the feeling of a fresh start to me. In many ways it feels like New Year’s, but without the snow and festivities. That’s actually not a bad thought, is it?

Like New Year’s, why not take some time to reflect on your goals and make some new ones? Although it’s helpful to assess goals on a quarterly basis, the half-year mark — hard to believe we’re already here! — can be a great time to see whether you’re on the right track for the things you want to accomplish.

This is the time of year when everyone’s lives seem to slow down a little, patio season is in full force, and long weekends and getaways seem easier to take.

As you’re sitting on a patio, enjoying a summer stroll or taking an extra day or two off, you may want to look back at the first half of 2014 and consider how it’s been for you. I won’t go into great depth about goal-setting, as I covered that theme in my blog a while ago.

However, for those of you who follow my Twitter and Facebook pages, you will note this theme over the next two weeks. In addition to the timely posts on current events, economic/market trends, financial news and tax savings ideas, there will be an underlying theme of goal-setting ideas, tips, and articles.

As a matter of fact, throughout the rest of the year, we’ll be featuring different themes that will include various blogs, videos, white papers and presentations with your needs and interests in mind, so stay tuned!

If there are any topics you’d like to see more of, feel free to let us know through email, or any of the social media channels.

Enjoy the rest of July, and make the most out of it!
